The main goal of the Emerson Asia Pacific Supply Chain  Organization (APSCO) is to help Emerson divisions create savings by sourcing their commodities and cost components in Asia Pacific. APSCO develops strategic partnerships with key suppliers in the Asian market to help divisions achieve these savings, which have totaled more than US$53 million in the past five years.

APSCO currently comprises more than 270 procurement professionals with extensive sourcing experience in the Asia Pacific market. The headquarters are located in Hong Kong and are supported by satellite locations in Japan, Korea, Shanghai, Bao'an, Malaysia, Philippines and India.

APSCO carries out three principal functions for Emerson:

• Asian commodity specialists support our global commodity strategies for key materials such as steel, electronics, non-ferrous metals and plastics. Emerson's key Asian supply partners have delivered significant savings to Emerson, and strengthened their own businesses through mutually beneficial supply contracts.
  
  
• APSCO Hong Kong provides the procurement expertise, infrastructure and administration for Emerson business units in every region and business segment, regardless of their presence in Asia. Currently more than 45 divisions are using this service.
  
  
• Satellite offices play a crucial role in gathering economic and market information. They provide invaluable insights into economic trends, report on various supply conditions, and help locate best-in-class suppliers for their respective markets.
