Emerson India (http://www.emerson.co.in)
Emerson's association with India goes back to the 1950's, when Emerson motors, drives and fans arrived in India to support the newly independent country's first step towards industrialization and economic growth.
Emerson's first major commitment was the joint venture of Fisher Rosemount Systems in 1982 which till today provides powerful management solutions in process control. This action paved the way for new ventures like ASCO and Tata Liebert which further strengthened Emerson's presence in India.
In 1995, Emerson Electric Company, a wholly owned subsidiary was established to support Emerson's businesses in India, seeking to enter and build a long-term presence in the country. Emerson's integration into the local economy was further supported by its close partnership ties with India's leading business houses - Tata's, Kirloskar's, Bharti, Sanmar Group, Batliboi, Jesu Shah Group, Lalwani's and Poonwawala's. Some of these continue to be Emerson's joint venture partners while other partnership ties have been wholly taken over by Emerson. The Company values each of these relationships as it led to creation of significant value for each partner.
Today, India plays a vital role in Emerson's global focus on growth through strategic acquisitions, joint venture partnerships, sustainable profitability and committed management of human capital. Its ambitious plans of providing world class highly integrated process and technology solutions, as well areas of sourcing and procurement, continue to contribute to Emerson's international growth.
Emerson has nine joint ventures and five wholly owned entities in India, employing more than 2,300 persons.
